Interesting list – thanks. I am so curious about Hughes and the condition of his arm. His season is well known, and as far as I remember he only pitched one inning in the last week or so, successfully. I also hope Carter Hall can stay healthy.

I don’t see any of the juniors on this list. I think that’s common, isn’t it, while they wait for the draft?

    • It is common for the juniors. I imagine there will be some others whose summer destinations will be come known in the next week.

  • Of course there aren’t many juniors to start with. Six I think.

  • Craport and Gibson are headed to Cape Cod as Temp players. Both will be with Cotuit Kettleers.

    • Thank you for the heads-up!

      • Just heard today that Craport may not be going up to Cape Cod. He is trying out for some MLB teams in preparation of the draft.

        • Keep us all posted!

          • Craport did not go up to Cotuit. I believe he is just working out and hoping to get drafted this coming week.

        • Coach Hall mentioned Craport and Johnson in his interview online this week on He noted they both desire to become physicians. From what little I know, having one’s BS in hand before any pro baseball career would be extremely helpful toward that goal. Hard to picture starting all that education at the undergrad level after any lengthy career.

  • Is Keyton draft eligible? He will be 21 on July 18th. If not, why temporary?

  • Keyton is eligible since he will turn 21 within 45 days of the draft. Temporary contracts are also used to fill rosters while the Super Regionals and College World Series are going on.

    • I hope any Sophomore considers the example of Sam Clay from 2014. He turned a very good year into a nice bonus, but is still stuck in Class A minor league ball three summers later.

  • Jake Lee to Holly Springs Salamanders and Connor Thomas to Lexington County Blowfish of the Coastal Plains League.

    • That’s a couple of guys who could really contribute to the pitching next season.

    • Per ramblinwreck, Austin Wilhite and Garrett Gooden both to Lexington County Blowfish. Nick Wilhite not listed, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he also goes there. Xzavion Curry to Brookhaven Bucks in July with Sunbelt League.
