  • RHP Buck Farmer took the loss in his return to the Majors as the Angels pounded the Tigers 12-2.  His line: (L,0-1) 5+ IP, 9 H, 7 R, 7 ER, 1 BB, 1 SO, 2 HR (84 pitches/59 strikes).
  • Yankees’ 1B Mark Teixeira (.239) was 0-for-3 with a walk.

  • 2B Derek Dietrich (.264) went 1-for-4 including a strikeout.
  • RHP Jacob Esch did not figure in the decision as Birmingham rallied to beat Jacksonville 6-5 in 1o innings.  His line: 6 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 5 SO (89 pitches/56 strikes).

  • 2B Mott Hyde (.315) was 0-for-3 with a sacrifice bunt.
  • DH Paul Kronenfeld (.259) extended his hitting streak to seven games while going 2-for-4 with an RBI single and a game-ending RBI double.
