A few leagues have started — most notably the attendance-oriented Northwoods League which plays a 72-game (?!?!) schedule. Cape Cod waits until June 11 when players who were on losing teams in Super Regionals will have just finished playing for their college team.
72 games is an awful lot for three months! I wonder if some of these guys play too much. Kyle Wren seems to have benefitted from a summer off after a “sophomore slump” if I remember correctly. It probably helps the freshmen on the whole though.
Have the college level leagues kicked off yet with players not in regionals, or do they wait?
