Management, 2001 2001: Posted .393 average (11-for-28) with home run and 10 RBI in ACC action....hit safely in last nine regular season games including ninth inning two-out, two-run homer at North Carolina 5/13....named to the Dean's List for spring semester....also named to ACC Academic Honor Roll for 2000-2001.....graduated with honors. 2000: Posted 20-game hitting streak from March 24 to April 22....homered and drove in five runs in Tech's series-opening win at Miami May 6....Named to Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Honor Roll for 1999-2000. 1999: Spent the largest portion of his playing time in the outfield (20 starts), but started 11 games at first base and 10 as the DH....Hit .356 as a first baseman (two errors), .231 when playing the outfield (five errors) and .243 as the DH....Missed three weeks of action early in the season after undergoing an appendectomy....After returning, hit .289 (39-for-135) with 25 RBI....Compiled 15 multi-hit games, including a 3-hit game in Tech's win over Maryland on Mar. 26....Hit .299 with two HR and 14 RBI vs. the ACC in the regular season....Went 6-for-13 with three RBI at Clemson....Also went 6-for-16 with four RBI at Virginia....One of Tech's better hitters on the road, hitting .301 with two HR and 19 RBI....ACC Tournament: started two games, 3-for-8, three RBI, scored three runs. 1998: Made his presence known in a hurry reaching base safely in his first nine plate appearances, and scoring in each of his first six trips to the plate during the opening series against UCLA....Hit two home runs, including a grand slam in the second game of that series, on Feb. 7....Went 10-for-14 in that series, with two home runs, six RBI, three walks, and eight runs scored, which remains his best series of the season....Hit both home runs and drove in six runs, a team-high for the season, in game two....Also hit two home runs in a game against Georgia on Apr. 7....His home run gave the Jackets the lead for good against N.C. State in Tech's 12-run ninth inning to rally from a 13-5 deficit to beat the Wolfpack 17-13 on April 4....Led Tech's freshmen in runs scored (second overall on team), base hits, RBI and extra-base hits (26)....Hit in the leadoff spot 29 times, second behind Matthew Boggs.
