High School: Member of 2007 Louisville Slugger High School All-American team as two-way standout at Greenbrier High School....went 31-4 with a 1.01 ERA on the mound to go with a .415 average, 10 home runs and 106 RBI as a four-year letter-winner during high school career....team captain while helping Greenbrier to back-to-back Class AAAA state baseball titles in 2006 and 2007....rated as the No. 93 high school senior in the nation by Baseball America entering 2007 season....hit .359 and went 14-1 with a 1.89 ERA and 87 strikeouts in 73 innings as junior in 2006....Played for coach Rodney Holder as a senior after beginning his prep career under Ed Williams....Team Georgia Senior Selection in 2007 after playing for Team Georgia in 2006....summer teammate of Jeff Ussery, Jeffrey Rowland and Thomas Nichols with the Savannah Chain....earned the win in the championship game of the Barrett-Fletcher World Series 8/4/2007 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla.
